That was obvious. Just admit that your bias is inherently irrational and we would just chalk it up as a natural human condition. When you coat your position with “BUT JOBS?? WHAT ABOUT JOBS??” you are just being dishonest.
You don’t have to work for people that control the way you look (from the way you cut your hair to what you wear) to earn a living. For some, succumbing to that kind of lifestyle is despicable. For some, it is “what must be done must be done” type of thing, and others are part of that system themselves. Noting wrong with those. People are different.
The original post you replied to in this thread was this:
>The great thing about tattoos many years ago, and body mods now, are that they can instantly filter out the small minded.
And your reply was this:
>”Small-minded”? At least the rest of us are employable.
You KNOW this isn’t about employment. You actually don’t care if those people are employable or not. You just have an irrational bias against it and that is ok. Just don’t be dishonest and people will respect you for acknowledging your own state as a human being.
For all you know, these dudes might be running their own body-mod business and tripling your pay. Your “what about employment? these people are stupid because of that” point doesn’t make any sense for that very reason. I have no body modifications whatsoever, and I’ve never worked for anyone who has a say in how I look, and what I wear, for a single day in my life. I make a lot more than most people that perceive me as “unemployed” however. Some people just can’t wrap their minds around the fact that there are countless other ways to make money outside the corporate cubicle and alike.
